This University started to officially operate as a university from 2014. As from that year the institution slowly grew day-by-day, year-by-year to accommodate more and more students. This meant that new courses had to be added, same as new buildings were to be built.

All this take times, and the University of Mpumalanga is proof to that. The transformation that it went through up to this day it is amazing. At first it did not have a platform for online applications but years later it was there, the same as for the platform for online learning (moodle) it was introduced in 2018.
